The Sooke Region Communities Health Network (SRCHN) has worked to create a strong partnership of groups concerned with serving Sooke Region communities and promoting health and wellness.
SRCHN’s Age-Friendly Committee, that is supporting services for all generations, has been deeply involved with Seniors issues this past year. We have been working with the Seniors’ Drop-In to put together a proposal for a Seniors Centre, collaborating with BC Healthy Communities and ElderCare to pilot an online Seniors Information Hub that in the future will be used by Seniors and their adult children to better understand existing services in the region. Along with our own Sooke Region Volunteer Centre, we have been supporting Seniors’ Drop-In Society with Lifelong Learning sessions providing opportunities to learn new things, in addition and the Seniors Café taking place at the Little Vienna Bakery every Wednesday morning from 9:30-11:00 where Seniors can socialize.
The workshop will take place Thursday, December 14th at the Sooke Child, Youth and Family Centre, 6672 Wadams Way. The workshop will start at 1:00 pm and will be for four hours. It is recommended to come a bit in advance to get properly registered. Light refreshment will be served.
